Asphalt shingles are dense, so a roof tear-off often reaches the 2,000-lb allowance well before the container looks full. A bigger container does not raise the included weight — all sizes include the same 2,000 lbs.
Plan for overage
Overage is $0.09 per pound over 2,000 lbs. An extra ton adds $180. Estimating roof size and number of layers helps the rental company set expectations.
